Call to Action – LeadingAge Member response needed to CMS Proposed Rule

On July 16th CMS released an extensive proposed rule regarding the Requirements of Participation for nursing homes. Many of these proposed requirements are already part of the practice of LeadingAge DC members. However, there is ambiguity which would result in varied interpretations by surveyors. Also, a minimum five year phase-in process will be important.

What can LeadingAge DC members do?

  1. Submit a letter to CMS – CMS needs to hear from individual organizations and communities. Pick a topic, area, or general concern and submit it to CMS. (Instructions are in the LeadingAge ROP-proposed-rule-member-letter from LeadingAge)
