President Obama kicked off the 2017 federal budget and spending cycle with the budget he submitted to the U.S. Congress on February 9, 2016. Like most presidential budgets, it had good news and bad news for providers of long-term services and supports.
The President’s proposals are the first step in the budget process for the next fiscal year. Most of his proposals will go into effect only if Congress passes legislation to implement them. And Congress has never enacted any presidential budget in its entirety.
