New LTC Survey process for Nursing homes.

June 1, 2017 LeadingAge DC Executive Director

The implementation date is November 28th, 2017. The new survey process focuses on being resident centered, automated, structured and allowing surveyor autonomy. The goal of the new process is to incorporate new innovative approaches as well as strengths from the Traditional and QIS survey processes.

Overall, there are three parts to the new survey process:
1. Initial pool process
2. Sample selection
3. Investigation

In addition, there will also be requirement tasks and other survey activities – closed record review, dining, infection control, medication management and storage, staffing, resident council, Influenza and Pnemo vaccinations, antibiotic stewardship program, SNF beneficiary notices, competencies and QAA/QAPI.
