At yesterday’s Council Legislative Session, At-Large Councilmember Anita Bonds introduced the “Property Manager Licensing Amendment Act of 2017” to clarify the scope of practice for licensed property managers. The bill also creates pre-licensure education requirements for all applicants seeking to possess a property manager license in the District of Columbia.
“Property Managers are responsible for the day to day maintenance and condition of properties throughout the District, however, many fail to obtain the proper licensing or training. This bill helps clarify the role of Property Manager, and will ensure that they are better positioned to fulfill their essential functions to the residents of the properties for which they are responsible,” stated At-Large Councilmember Anita Bonds.
