The Council voted on the budget on May 30, 2017. The FY 2018 budget includes investments to protect vulnerable children, schools, and homelessness. Councilmember David Grosso introduced amendments to stop cuts to the estate tax and to limit business tax cuts to small and medium local businesses. The amendments started Council conversation about supporting residents left out of DC’s boom. Neither amendment passed.
